Sessions are tailored specifically to you and your needs- we’ll go at your own pace, as you’re gently guided towards your goals. There will be a good balance of technique and musical work- exploring and singing the songs you love from Day One.

Ian is a friendly & empathetic coach- a musician and singing teacher who has worked with countless beginners to help them find their sound, and grow confidence in their voices.

  • Learn basic vocal technique, breathing, support, range etc, with fun musical exercises to get you vocalising & opening your voice.
  • Sing with backing tracks or make live music with Ian accompanying you on guitar or keyboards/ piano.
  • Build repertoire with a song folder.
  • Overcome doubts & limiting beliefs. Grow confidence in your voice, and in yourself.
  • Receive a customised vocal exercise plan for practice at home.
  • Record demo’s in the studio- listen back & find new ways to improve your sound.

Your first vocal lesson


Firstly you’ll be made to very welcome in the studio! A quick tour, a cup of tea, a chat, and we’ll be getting straight into into it. We’ll move at your own pace- some gentle exercises to loosen you up and get you vocalising. The lessons are tailored to you and your needs as well as your learning style, Ian will be learning as much from you as you from him!   

The studio is the perfect practice environment- a place for exploring, making mistakes and perfecting things as we go along. By the end of the first session, you’ll have had a good assessment of your voice, made some music, learnt some new techniques and will have some things to take away and practice. We’ll also have formulated a plan for moving forwards. Hopefully you’ll have found it a lot of fun!
